I am Afua Owusua Ampofo, a third-year Business Administration undergraduate student at the University of Ghana, Legon. Accounting is my major. I am the first of three siblings to a single mother; I grew up in Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region of Ghana. I am an old student of St. Louis Senior High School, Kumasi. A charted Accountant is who I want to become in the near future. As a kid, I always had big dreams of getting far in life with my academics to make my mum proud and relieve her of all the stress I watched her go through for our sake. A woman providing for almost all the needs of three children with the little income she earns is not something I would wish for any parent. I watched her struggle financially to make ends meet which sometimes saw us facing the toughest ordeals. For these reasons, my dreams had always been on a dancing rope. I was graced to benefit from the free Senior High School (SHS) policy, which put some burden off my mother's shoulders concerning my education. As my days in SHS ended, the worry of furthering my education resurfaced and I was preparing to stay home for a while to work and earn some money to push myself through tertiary. By God’s grace, ELEOS Cares Foundation came through for me right after my SHS and oh! What a relief. Now, my academic dreams are a reality, and I am able to learn with smiles and without any financial worries. I hope to someday make a similar difference in the lives of young ones who struggle financially in their academic journeys and give back to society as much as I can. I am so grateful to ELEOS CARES FOUNDATION, and I know they would never lack the blessings of God Almighty. LONG LIVE ELEOS!!!
