I am Precious Serwaa Asamoah, a fifth-year Dr. of Optometry Student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. I aspire to make a change in the eye care profession in my country through education. As a child growing up with eye problems in Ghana, most parents don’t give the needed attention, which goes a long way to negatively affect the child and I want to make a change by educating people on the importance of eye care. My academic journey looked very blurry after the second year when my family faced financial hardship but got the opportunity of gaining a scholarship from ELEOS Cares Scholarship Foundation. The foundation paid my school fees and accommodation as well and additionally added a monthly allowance which has gone a long way to help me. My dream is now more realistic than I thought all thanks to ELEOS.
