Hajar was born and raised in Taza, Morocco. She first became involved with charitable work while studying law at Mohamed ben Abdellah University in Fes, Morocco. In 2003, she emigrated to the US in order to pursue her academic ambitions. As a student in Phoenix, AZ, Hajar served as president of the International Student Club. She volunteered at a number of charities including St Vincent de Paul, Andre House and Project Ayuda. Hajar enjoyed working with refugees as she helped them with educational and health care issues and facilitated their integration into American society. Hajar eventually earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and for the past 8 years has been involved in many different aspects of the healthcare field including addiction recovery programs and nursing student mentorship. She was also a Clinical Evaluator for the Medical/Surgery and Cardiac Units at her hospital. Hajar continues to lend a healing hand to whomever comes her way and enjoys giving back to the community.
